Epic ways to come out lockdown

Epic ways to come out lockdown

The world under lockdown because of the COVID-19 changes everything. Many people were dying due to the corona virus. In a time of pandemic situation, most countries in the world were enacting travel ban &going into lockdown. So, I’m looking for the future travel plans how will it look like in 2021.

Set off the journey to Everest base camp & Gokyo valley trek with my senior landscape photographer Padam Gurung, on the last February 2020, I was so excited to have a journey with him. During the trekking time, we have enjoyed outdoor adventure in Khumbu region. We heard about the corona virus but in mountains area we have lost connection with the world due to the internet/ mobile data access.

After we were back to Kathmandu (the capital city of Nepal), the government of Nepal also enacted the lockdown policy and banned for traveling. So, I decided to move to my hometown in the countryside area temporarily. Like a ‘blessing in disguise’ through the hard times during pandemic situation, I felt more safe and I have enjoyed great moment with my mother there after a long time we have lived separately in different city. I have stayed in my hometown during monsoon season due to the pandemic condition. During my stay, I got back to work on agricultural in my family fields, and I was feel happy.

End of the monsoon, Kanchan Rai, a friend of mine was calling me. He had a plan to go for wilderness tour in Himalaya to enjoy fresh air. We like to think forward and day dreaming about the future plans of traveling that we want to go one day. We are willing to bet that other people too, read on for a roundup of epic way to come out of lockdown.

We prepared all things for our journey. Also, we got the permit from the Nepal Tourism Board after we’ve got our Swab, PCR test result from hospital as a requirement for domestic traveling. With the support from local community, we as the multigenerational team Ghumante group were allowed to travel to Lamjung district and got ways to hiking in Lamjung Hile Taksar village to Meme Pokhari.

During hard times of lockdown and isolation due to the pandemic situation, what would be more better than a‘ holiday’ with The Ghumante team? It’s like a wonderful escape. During the trekking journey, our days were bumped to search for the sucking leeches across the bush, sheep shepherd, drank delicious milk, enjoyed luxurious camping set off into the nature wildlife, and hiked in Himalaya, stayed in an untouched lake side surrounded by beautiful valley. It felt like heaven that I found during the pandemic. I feel so blessed to have that incredible experience.

Ghumante Team on a trekking journey during the pandemic period,is trying to explore Nepal in every nock & corner especially for untouched area of Nepal.
